Why I鈥檓 moving away from WordPress Honestly, WordPress is just a headache. Between constant plugin updates, PHP vulnerabilities, and the slow MySQL backend, it feels like it is more work than it鈥檚 worth. Not to mention the ongoing issues with WPEngine.
Security-wise, it鈥檚 just too easy to get hit if something isn鈥檛 patched, and relying solely on Cloudflare WAF rules to protect certain PHP paths is not a solution.
Not to mention the plugins, most WordPress plugins have a simple free tier, with annual subscriptions and microtransactions for any further functionality, argubly at the expense of security. All the websites I鈥檝e consulted on always have plugins, mostly for backend/performance, such as Minify or some sort of image compression.
